Position Overview:
Pride Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our healthcare team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This is a full-time, Monday through Friday, 40-hour per week position with no weekends and no on-call duties. This is an excellent opportunity for a Medical Assistant with ambulatory care experience, particularly in orthopedics, looking to provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and prepare patients for office visits and outpatient procedures.
- Measure and document vital signs, weight, and other pertinent health information.
- Assist physicians with medical procedures and other clinical tasks as needed.
- Provide patient education and instructions for post-procedure care.
- Ensure proper sterilization and maintenance of medical instruments and equipment.
- Manage patient records, ensuring they are updated and accurate.
- Process prescription refills and assist with medication prior authorizations.
- Schedule patient procedures and follow up on referrals as needed.
- Adhere to safety and infection control protocols at all times.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with healthcare regulations.
- Cross-train and provide coverage in other areas of the clinic to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications:
- Certification: Must hold a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification or equivalent training.
- Experience: At least 1-2 years of clinical experience preferred. Experience in ambulatory care and orthopedics is highly preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in medical assisting tasks, including rooming patients, taking vitals, assisting with procedures, and using medical equipment.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association required.
- Other Requirements: Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
